The Great Lost Kinks Album 1973
The Great Lost Kinks Album is a 1973 LP collection of unreleased material
issued by Reprise Records after The Kinks had moved to RCA. The tracks
were recorded between 1966 and 1970 and master tapes were shipped to
the US Reprise Label in the early 1970's to fulfill contractual obligations with
that label. Kinks leader and songwriter, Ray Davies, intended most of the
songs to remain unreleased "collateral" tracks for Reprise. Several other
songs from these "collateral" recordings had been released on the 1971
Reprise compilation The Kink Kronikles.
Davies and the Kinks management were not told about the album and they
learned of its existence from the US Billboard record chart. Davies instituted
legal action against Reprise, which resulted in Reprise discontinuing the album
in 1975. It became an immediate collector's item and most of the songs
remained officially unreleased until the 1998 reissue of Kinks albums with
bonus tracks. Some are still available only on old LPs or unofficial bootleg
albums. The name is a reference to an album that was set to be released by
Reprise in 1969, but was held back, eventually morphing into The Village
Green Preservation Society. So many rumors circulated about the unissued
record that "great lost Kinks album" became a catch phrase.

The Doors Box Set 1997
This is the first box set by the band The Doors released in 1997.
Unlike many a box-set retrospective, this 1997 four-CD collection is clearly
tailored for Doors aficionados rather than those curious but not overly
familiar with the legendary '60s band's career and oeuvre. The first three
discs are filled with previously unreleased live tracks and other rarities,
such as the band's early demos, which found them slowly building a foundation
stemming from each member's clear strengths and influences: Manzarek's
classical background, Densmore's jazz, Krieger's rock, and Morrison's blues.
Disc 4 features "band favorites" rather than hits, per se, and thus continues
the insider tone taken by the compilation. Once you're inside, though, the

Ted Nugent - Ted Nugent (Where does he come up with these clever names for his albums?)
Ted Nugent was one of the most underated heavy metal artist in the 1970's.
This album shows a very talented, tight band. Nugent is like the Hendrix of
the 70's. Derek St. Holmes is a great singer. This group should have ranked
with bands like Deep Purple, Aerosmith, and Led Zeppelin. Sadly, Nugent has
only had a few hits. He dose have a loyal following.
